The Demohouse project (Demohuset.se) is initiated by the Swedish IAI (www.siai.se) and the FFI (www.fi2.se).

The project is going to gather "all" information concerning the lifespan of the Slätten school in the city of Jönköping in Sweden. The information will be developed into data formats suitable for modern ICT systems.

The main aim of the project is to show the effectiveness when using these modern ICT formats and systems. The project will help establishing these formats and systems and eventually make the whole sector more efficient.

Work will be carried out to define the formats, present real world examples and show how the data can be used when certifying software.

The project is financially supported by the the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning – Boverket – which is the central government authority for planning, the management of land and water resources, urban development, building and housing under the Ministry of the Environment. Boverket monitors the function of the legislative system under the Planning and Building Act and related legislation and  proposes regulatory changes if necessary. To ensure effective implementation Boverket also provides information to those engaged in planning, housing, construction and building inspection activities.

The project is financially supported also by the Swedish IAI. IAI (International Alliance for Interoperability) is a worldwide co-operation organized in regional Chapters. The Nordic countries have constituted one of these Chapters, the Nordic IAI (NIAI). The aim of IAI is to develop and support IFC (Industry Foundation Classes).

It is of fundamental importance that the project is supported by the Swedish Facility Management organizations represented by the FFI.
